Crescent Moon Visibility for Ramadan & Eid al-Fitr 2019

Ramadan — May 2019

Information relating to the sighting of the new crescent moon for May 2019 (Ramadan 1440 AH) can be found here.

HMNAO predictions suggest that the new crescent moon is likely to be sighted on the evening of Sunday May 5th for most of the western hemisphere. The whole world should see it the following day, Monday May 6th.

Eid al-Fitr — June 2019

Information relating to the sighting of the new crescent moon for June 2019 (Shawwal 1440 AH) can be found here.

HMNAO predictions suggest that the new crescent moon is likely to be sighted on the evening of Monday June 3rd for central parts of the Pacific Ocean region just to the east of the international date line. Most of the world should see it the following day, Tuesday June 4th with the possible exceptions of New Zealand, southern Australia, northern Japan, northern Russia and Scandinavia. These locations may have to wait until Wednesday June 5th to make their sightings.
