Appendix 1 contains further notes about Sadler's life, while the second reproduces letters that he sent to the directors of the other national ephemeris offices and to the staff of the Office at the time of his retirement. Appendix 3 contains further information about the Admiralty Computing Service. Finally there is a list of references to published papers about the work of the Office under the superintendence of Comrie and Sadler.
